Looking to purchase 2005 BMW 530i, 144k for
around $5900. Have a prospect in mind but
sure would like anyones thoughts on this?
Especially from the BMW owners out there!

Have it checked out by a BMW specialist and budget for some expensive repairs.

YA KNOW THEY ARE PREETY NICE CARS FOR THE MONEY...IM WORKING ON A 03 NOW..CODES..CANT WAIT TO SEE IF THE THINGS I REPLACED HELPS / REPAIRS THE CODES

Bad idea! Used BMWs can be an expensive mistake because they are VERY expensive to repair.

Hey, I had 04 530. It was really nice car but I had few problems. I luckily had german car mechanic and I also knew about BMW's since I owned couple of them. Find out what has been replaced and when. Around that mileage you should look for thermostat and water pump, oxygen sensors, probably it will have some leaks. If you have no idea about german cars then you might get pissed a lot. Good luck man! And also there is web for bmw owners. Its bimmerfest.com. whenever you have problem you can ask them and you will get help.
