Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi guys, just recently my 530i e39 2002 start
making this strange noise. The noise comes and
goes, could it be problem with the alternator failing
or tensionbelt? I am copying the link to the video...
any advise appreciated.

I didn't check the video, but for a 2002 vehicle, I would suspect all the pulleys would need replacing if you haven't replaced them before. The bearings wear out over time. They usually need replacing around 80K miles. Remove the serpentine belt and spin each one by hand to see which one is squeaking. They shouldn't free spin nor be too tight either.
