2000 528i alternator went out and drained battery. replaced alt and charged batt (full charge as tested with hydr.). cannot get car to start. all lights, auto door locks ect. and service indictors on dash work. cannot get the starter to engage. not even getting the "dead battery click". any way to reset???

Check the wiring, something is lose or needs replacement.

Agreed, check battery terminals to see that they are tight, free of corrosion, and that the cables are not cracked. Sounds like it's not getting power to the starter.

Check the MAF sensor same thing happened to mine the MAF sensor cord was bad. Try unplugging it and then starting it if it starts that was your problem
