My all light is on and my car won't start

My friend hooked up jumper cables right to
my car and not to the other car and armed
my battery nothing smoked it anything my
eml light is in won't go off and my car won't
start but all my lights work and has good
power it just won't turn over

Check to see if there is power going to the small wire on the starter solenoid when someone turns the ignition key to the start position. If there is power there then the starter needs to be checked.
