Short answer is yes you can. You will need to do some research on this about what kits are out there and what will work best for you. A faster route with less work or issues would be the supercharger. But of course the benifits are less such as a supercharger uses power to create power meaning less gains. Turbos dont use any extra power just create power but also create massive amounts of heat. Just one of many pros and cons. Personally I like superchargers better for my BMW's. Thanks hope this helps.

If you are out for performance, I'd go for a supercharger and not a turbo charger. Bear in mind that a turbo charger utilizes exhaust air, so there's a bit of a lag from standstill. Supercharger means immediate monster power. It does use power, but that is battery power...and doesn't affect the car's performanced one bit! A full kit will boost horspower/power to weight ratio and is also essential for safety (aerodynamics, stability) . Check out ESS Superchargers, Eisenmann race exhausts, Vorsteiner carbon fiber bumper, splitters, diffuser...and you'll need to change the suspension system. Check Eibach. You're basically giving your car a lot more power than it was designed to handle. So you need to make sure its done safely. I know people that have purchased plastic after market body kits and have ended up in a bad way! So...only carbon fiber! Enjoy and have fun!

Is you need a couple of recommended supercharger manufacturers, try these. VF Engineering (CA), Active Autowerks (FL), and ESS (CA). My local preferred shop even does G-Power Tuning if you wanted to go high end.

your car is 17 years old...save your money and just get a newer model. it will be a better overall car including faster.

Are you planning on tracking the vehicle? Or are you looking to build a Sleeper? Also, have you already addressed the structural issues in the E36 body? If not, you might want t start there before modding your engine.
