2011 chevy traverse engine light flashing key stuck in the ignition

My wife drove the car Saturday to work with no
issues. Came home parked it in the garage ran
perfect. Yesterday (Monday) tried to start it and
had no interior lights. Put key in the ignition to start
it and the engine light came on and started
flashing( no other lights, indicators nothing else lit
up) tried to turn the ignition off and it wouldn't turn
off . got the key out and ignition off
Any suggestions
