I seem to recall a Toyota Service Bulletin(s) concerning issues as you describe. You would have to access them through your Mechanic who subscribes to Toyota Tech info for details. You might try a "Reset". See if you can find a Radio/CD fuse or 2. I seem to remember Radio Fuse #1...and...Radio Fuse #2. Remove both and wait about 5 min. then re-install and check operation of the equipment in question. Get back to us with results.

The fuse for the Audio System should be under the Dash...or...at the left side kick panel. The fuse cover should ID the fuses. Good Luck

Solved: Just press Eject button for 10-20 second until "CD in" disappear.

I was on a long trip and my Toyota wouldn't accept the CD all of the sudden. It would say there was already a CD inside. I was bored so as I was driving I kept turning the player on and off. Sometimes it would act like there was no CD in the player and that's when I would push the CD in. Eventually it accepted the CD and it's still working.

I have 2003 Toyota Camry XLE, the CD changer was displaying error. Some one suggested to disconnect the battery and reconnect . I did and now the display is completely gone. It will not accept or show any display. What may the cause be? Any Ideas, please help.

Buy a can of compressed air, like used for blowing out computer keyboards and such, and blow into the CD slot. Chances are there is foreign matter on a sensor.

Got mine working this morning. Mine said "CD IN" when there was no CD and it would not accept a CD. I disconnected both battery cables and connected them together via a short jumper wire to drain the capacitors. I then got into the car turned the key to the run position and pumped the brakes 10 times. Let the car sit for 10 minutes with the cables still connected I then re-attached the cables turned the key to ACC, turned the radio on and pressed the eject button and voila the CD player worked perfectly. Good luck folks.

My 2011 Toyota Corolla CD player kept flashing CD in,but there was no CD in,I did try holding eject button for a awhile, no luck,so I had a very thin piece of plastic,I slipped it into CD player a couple inches, and very lightly pressed down, that turned off CD flashing light and now it works fine. I'm thinking maybe a sensor was stuck, and by using that thin piece of plastic, it turned off the stuck sensor? Either way,I'm so glad it worked!

On a 2013 RAV 4 Limited, when you turned on the car the screen said DiscERROR. I tried inserting thin plastic, as suggested above. In my case, no improvement. I tried holding down the Eject button for 10 or 15 seconds, as suggested above (with nothing in the slot). First I heard the CD try to eject something and stop after 1 or 2 seconds. Then I heard it try ejecting again, and this time it didn't stop. After 5 seconds or so of continuous attempted ejection, I decided something must have changed. And sure enough, the CD player accepts and plays discs normally now. Thanks, amre! It's always a good idea to clean the lens periodically.

I accidentally made mine work. I had on several occasions pressed the eject button thinking that would make it work to no avail. I got an Easter cd that I really needed to hear in my car so I copied the songs to my phone. I connected the phone using the AUX in connector. I pressed the AUX button to start listening to the songs on my phone. I saw the same old "CD In" message on the screen, so I pressed the eject button here and the message went away. I am now playing my cd in my cd player. It may be a coincidence, but all I know is, it is working now.

My CD player says CD in forever and won't let me put in anything new. I've tried shoving in a new CD and pressing eject and it ejects fine but then keeps ejecting for several minutes and finishes by saying there's still a CD in there. I tried taking out the fuse and putting it back in but nothing changed. I tried holding down eject and it ignored me. I tried putting in a piece of plastic and pressing down but nothing happened there either. I'm at my wits end. I JUST got this car and the previous driver (my dad) never had this problem. I need the CD player for my daughter to listen to music and not get car sick! :(

Make Model Year? Try holding down the eject button for about a minute. Do you have an Owners Manual in this vehicle?

2009 Camry, holding the eject button for up to 30 seconds did nothing, as I stated before. HOWEVER - I punched the console as a last resort, and voila! "CD in" signal went away and I was able to put a new CD in. Played fine. No idea. :D

I have a 2012 Camry, and I experienced an issue where it wouldn't let me insert a CD (previously, it accepted and played CDs). I turned on the car (didn't start it, though) and held the eject button for 10-15 seconds until I heard a beep, after which it worked!

My CD player in 2011 Camry said "CD IN" even though there was no CD inserted. I held the eject button for 10-15 seconds, with no improvement for me. I then tried the Joann method of inserting a thin piece of plastic (in my case it was a plastic ruler) about 2 inches into the player. I moved it back and forth very gently, not forcing anything. When I turned my car off and on again, the CD player worked! I'm very grateful for the help!

I have a 2005 Toyota Camry. After ejecting a CD a couple months ago anytime I try to load a CD it will accept it but then just flashes "loading" without playing and then ejects it after about 15 or so seconds. I will try some of the suggestions here. But has anyone had this specific problem and found a solution?

Tried other suggestions (thin plastic ruler, pressurized air, held eject button for 15 seconds repeatedly), didn’t work. Gently punched display with side of fist and voila it worked. Thanks!

I too inserted a thin sheet of cardboard and moved it around and it cleared the CD IN light and it works again 2011 Camry

be forewarned, i gently punched my display with the bottom part of my palm and the display went away completely

The way I did it was to remove the unit from the car and use a sheet of felt with suitably rounded end moistened with Diggers Wax & Grease remover and rubbed the bottom side vigorously , left it for a day and refitted and worked perfectly. Neil Wildey
