Dodge Ram 1500 4x4

Asked by Steve Jan 25, 2016 at 06:18 PM about the 2010 Dodge RAM 1500 Sport Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: General

So I have a 2010 ram 1500 sport 4x4. Just got a big
snow storm and I notice I had a good bit of trouble
in it my tires are pretty new (Goodyear wrangler hp
all season). Trying to figure out if all four of my
wheels spin when I am in 4x4 lock. Or if just one
front wheel and one back wheel spin.
Thoughts????

If one back and front wheel spin that is a function of open differentials. To know you will need someone to observe your truck. Lockers installed in the front and rear axles will ensure that you have true 4 wheel drive. One trick that will help a lot in snow is to air down your tires to around 20-25 psi. Lower can help even more.

All season tires, ain't. Get some aggressive all terrain siped tires if you want to run them year around, or some good winter snow tires, preferably studded AND siped.
