Just got the car 3 days ago from a used car sales dealer. Check engine light
came on today. I have a Car MD device. Should I plug this in and if a code
comes up can you tell me what it is. 2010 Ford Escape Limited all wheel drive.

Yes Hedda, try that device and post all the codes you get and see if someone can help you. If you don't want to wait, you can Google the codes and see what it says. You would Google a phrase like " engine code P0320". Being your "new" car I hope it is nothing major. Also, places like Autozone will test for codes free, hoping you buy the part from them of course. Some vehicles even "self-diagnose".
