How many miles? I dont want to say this as bieng a jerk but if you have over a 100k miles on the vehicle the chain was supposed to be changed at a 100k. In side the timing cover is tensioners, chains, and gears and over time of normal wear and tear things wear out if it wasnt caught in time it could cause serious engine damage aka bent valves, broken or seriously damaged pistons, it could also cause a cracked head do to the forces apply by the two making contact. And please dont take this the wrong way but you are proably going to need a new engine. Most people dont know how or when to maintenance a vehicle manufactures put it in the owners manual but either dont know about the schedule or just dont care the get in and drive attitude( not trying to sound like a smart ass just truth). I just got done explaining to a lesbian couple how there 50000 mile no oil change trip destroyed the engine and either replace or rebuild either way 7 grand in repairs.
