Brake lights and ac

Asked by dugdale1620 Jan 17, 2017 at 08:43 AM about the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3 i Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Front parking lights come on and dash dims when
brake pedal is pressed. I have to replace the left
brake bulb socket. The socket got hot and doesn't
make a good connection.  Would this have
anything to do  with this problem or the ac because
both started at the same time. Ac works for a little
bit then quits. Turn car off ac, seems to reset, and
works again. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

For the A/C I guess it must be the clutch, but could also be low refrigerant level - this could be done at an A/C shop with best results (though you will pay unfortunately). Any noise coming from it? For the rear brake bulbs, check the fuses (if are bigger then the ones stated on the cover), check the black wires (or ground - usually they are held with some nuts), check if same thing happens with wires taken out from the rear lamps and check the relays (if any; for headlights there are surely a couple).
