brake light on dash

Why would the brake light suddenly go on?

Low brake fluid is one possibility......does it look something like this (!) or you parking brake is not all the way off

You have a problem in the brake system somewhere. Start by checking the brake fluid level.

Good news, its not an abs light. If the fluid is ok mannually move the float up if the light stays on replace it. Have someone check for you. Dont get any fluid on the paint it will eat away rapidly.
