Engine swap cost

150

Asked by Tweeker82 Sep 29, 2016 at 01:50 AM about the 2010 Ford Fusion SEL V6 AWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

So my car threw a rod on 9-25-16, and I have
a quote from a Ford dealership for $2,000
out the door. Engine has 37K and my car has
137K. Just looking to know if $2K is a good
price, including the cost of the engine?

All shops in area are $75-200 more, engine will have 100K LESS THAN car does now

I made sure to have them put it into the notes for the tech to check it over BEFORE installation

If that includes installation, it's a very good deal for an engine with mileage that low, especially from a dealer. Jump on it.

I have a 2012 ford fusion, and I wanna change the engine. My question is: can I replace my 2012 Ford fusion SE engine by Ford Mustang to increase the power of my car?

Your Fusion has the 2.0L turbo 4. The 2017 Ford Fusion Sport has a 2.7L turbo V6, and that's a really tight fit. So the Mustang GT's 5.0L Coyote V8 would not fit in your Fusion, not without major modifications & expense. At best, you can fit the 2.3L turbo 4 from the Mustang.

Did you find out if the escape engine would work in the fusion? I've got a 2015 1.5 fusion and was wondering the same
