Transmission leaking

Asked by Edward May 28, 2017 at 07:34 AM about the 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2009 dodge caliber with 84,000 miles on it. On my
way home from work it made a strange noise and noticed
the transmission fluid was pouring out from a plastic cover.
What can cause this?

If it is the transmission pan cover on the bottom of the trany, anything could have ben thrown up from your tires, or ran over some debree on the road and punctured the pan since it is just made out of plastic. Just get it replaced and the transmission filled back up before driving it.
