Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Why do some dealers have hardly any certified preowned Porsches (maybe 5-10%)
of their preowned inventory while other dealers have 75-80% certified?  Thanks.

alot of dealers use larger quantitys of vehicles as demos and once over a couple thousend is on the clock they get put on the yard as cert preowned due to being registered to the dealer and no longer being able to be classed as new. if a dealer is small they probably dont have much of a demo fleet

It costs money to certify cars (approx. $2,000 for Porsches). The dealer will only invest the money into the cars if he knows he can get it back with a higher sale price. If a car has obvious problems that won't make it qualify (dents, large scratches, poor tires, etc...) he won't even bother.
