Offroad Performance of Toyota sequoia 2008 4WD 5.7L in comparison to Ford Explorer 2002 4.0L 5-speed Manual

I intend buying the 2008 Sequoia 4WD 5.7L but wonder if the performance on off-road is better than or almost the same as the Ford explorer 2002XLS 5-speed manual.

I am not going to do any serious offroad-driving apart from unpaved roads. The unpaved roads have some potholes with small rocks at some portions of the roads. I used the Ford explorer 2002 4WD on the road without any problem.  

I prefer the sequoia because of space.
