2008 Silverado Engine Fan

I have a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. When i turn the truck on regularly or
with remote start within 15 seconds the fan cuts on and stays on until i turn
the truck off. It runs pretty loud i think and some others nearby have pointed it
out. what could that be?
