My 2009 Matrix has a leak that goes into the spare tire well at rear of car. I've checked all the obvious places for a leak but unable to find it.

Probably need to replace the seal around the rear hatch, or also check the window seal in the hatch.

There's a rubber plug under the spare tire. Remove the spare check the plug if properly seated.

I removed the rubber seal from around the door frame, cleaned all the dirt and debris that accumulated around it, cleaned the seal with hot water and Fantastik and replaced the seal. After 2 days of heavy rain there is no leak now!
