Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have not driven my 2008 mazda 3 for 3 months.  I started it but it did not start
up as quick as it used to. Can I recharge the battery at idle and any idea how
long it will take?

I have the same problem too. My problems are escalating. Firstly, when I try to start the engine it won't start and makes a rettling sound - cranking sound. Yesterday I tried a new wilard bettry and surprisingly functioned well. But when I replaced that bettry with my old one it wouldn't start. I then kick started the car with jumpers and it started. But then, the steering wheel is stiff. The dashboard lights keep flickering. There is an intermittent on and off of the radio. Worse it won't go. There is some difficulty putting on another gear. The gear leaver can move from Drive to Reverse, but there is some jacking that happens when changing gears. The battery won't charge. What could be the problem.
