Revving engine when cold

Asked by Liamaustin24 May 16, 2019 at 06:42 PM about the 2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my mk3 mx5 out with another friend and we
stopped at some lights after driving under 3k rpm for about
3/4 minutes.

The immature side of me came out and we raced from the
lights - I shifted at about 5k rpm on 1st and 2nd gear.

Will this have caused any substantial wear or issues to my
engine? I'm usually sensible and let the oil and components
warm before driving hard.

It has 48k miles on.

Thanks

I would not worry about it. Take it easy in the future until it is fully warmed up.
