Step #1 is to read the trouble code(s) with an OBD II scan tool. If you dont have one, Auto Zone will read the trouble code(s) for you at no charge. Some other auto-care places offer to do this, as well. The trouble code(s) will be stored in your car's computer (as long as the battery is connected).

My 06 Honda CRV was having battery problems but since the wires have been tightened it was fine for one day...then it was hard to start but it did and it ran fine but whenever I slow down to stop to turn or to stop and idle it dies unless I keep giving it gas and reving it up in order to keep it running.
