How do I reset the security system?

Had someone change my starter and my car started long
enough that I could run somewhere and back home never
turned it off till then but when I did it wouldn't start again
the dash is showing a car with a lock on it and I have a
2008 Pontiac G6

2009 g6 Pontiac lock is on and my car wont start its showing a care with a lock
