Engine Hot A/C Off

Asked by angered Feb 22, 2019 at 04:15 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I noticed on my drive one morning to work the
dash was displaying this message and the
temperature gauge was all the way down. The next
time i drove the car and since then, i haven't seen
this message and temp gauge has been normal.
Could this just have been a reaction to cold
weather or is there something i should check?

It keeps telling me the same thing after driving for about 10 minutes "turn a/c off, engine hot" even though the engine is not hot to the touch and I have already replaced the thermostat and the sensor, what else can it be? The radiator or the water pump?

Most likely I’d the coolant temperature sensor, be sure to check the wires and connector as it can become brittle and break

I replaced my coolant temperature sensor. It worked for two months, then the message reappeared like a bad dream. I wondered, "is it another cheap replacement part that failed, or could it be the fact that I've never changed my coolant, since I bought the car, thinking debris in my dirty fluid could be clogging up the sensor?" So I changed coolant and I'm on my fourth month with no message/"'
