Transmission replacement

Asked by Stephen Aug 12, 2020 at 08:27 PM about the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a transmission from a low mileage 2008 Buick allure; will it replace the
transmission in a 2008 pontiac grand prix? Both have the 3800 V6 engine,
without supercharger.

I don't see why that wouldn't be the same transmission given that the years match. Having said that, manufacturers occasionally make changes mid year so you want to be sure. A friendly transmission shop could confirm that for you and most auto wreckers should be able to tell you as well. Also, if you have the model number off both transmissions, or the vin off both cars, any GM dealer should be able to look that up for you and tell you if its a match.
