I just had my mechanic fix the squeeling belt for my air conditioner. Now its overheating and check engine light on.

Just had my mechanic fix the squealing belt for my air conditioner. Now a couple days later my car is overheating and check engine lite is on. Also noticed that the blue cap that goes on a pipe just above the oil filling compartment was missing. I believe that pipe runs to the air filter. Could that have done it? I found the cap (was next to the battery) and screwed it back on. See photo attached blue cap above oil reservoir.  The belts look ok but scared to start car.... Any ideas? I am scared! Just bought this car in April! Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated! Karen

According from what you said , the noise is from the water pump by the cam belt .ac unit does not make noise like this . Sorry to say it...water pump is expensive job

OK thanks. They fixed the belt and it stopped squealing. Anyone know what that blue cap IS for? I will definitely have water pump checked thanks!

The blue cap looks like where you put your freon in your AC.
