Why won't it start

Car was running perfectly fine untI'll I came
a cross a fuel pump leak I managed to
replace the leaky upper half of the fuel
pump unit.... car hasn't started since. ...
please help thank you

did you revers any fuel lines does it turn over or does it click

No click no reverse lines.... just cranking but no start. ..I got it to start buy soaking a rag in gasoline and placing it over the throttle body as I turn the ignition but if died as soon as I moved the rag

There's no fuel flowing to the system try to replace your fuel filter. Its maybe clogged that caused the back pressure creating the leak in your main pump that you just replaced.
