Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The idle cycles hiog h to low when in park. It runns high when it is engaged in drive and when you try to stop it it lurches (due to the high idle). When it comes to a complete stop it will idle down after 3 or 4  seconds. It sometimes idles so low (400rpm)that the engines stalls. This is the first problem I've had with the car

Bring it to a place like Autozone and check if it is throwing a code. I suspect it is the idle air control valve. If you don't know what it looks like, have the sales person show you the replacement and you will be able to find it. It's cheak enough.
