Door ajar switch.

Asked by Snapshot66 Jul 13, 2019 at 11:48 PM about the 2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V6 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Driver ajar door switch was replaced, with door
open bell is still buzzing.  But after it’s closed it
goes off.

Is there something that tells the system there’s a
key in the ignition.  A warning sound, or a switch.

Purchased my 2003 new. If the key is in the ignition and the door is open it goes ding ding. Once the door is closed the chime stops. Sounds like your system is working as it was designed.

If you load up your arms with stuff while getting out the vehicle, leaving the key in the ignition, the ding-ding reminds you, don't forget your key.
