Car problem

My 2007 chevy malibu is stuck in 2nd gear  I'm
pretty sure.. it shifts from first to 2 just fine but
then just idles after that instead of shifting to
3..what do I do??

I took it to AutoZone originally and got it scanned on the computers and it said solenoid B is stuck on so I bought the solenoid and took it to my uncle he was working on it and he couldn't find anywhere on the car to put the part he could have missed it but I'm just trying to get all the information I can
