Is your battery DEAD?...someone might have left a make-up mirror light on a battery that was more than five years old.....spend $125 and buy and Interstate....me pops works for them as an Electrochemical Engineer and they make a superior battery with a decent guarantee...these things are not made from LEAD anymore and have slightly different characteristics---they are made from tin-antimony alloy~

I been looking and found that a lot of Impala owners 2006-2009 models are having same issues. Some have replaced door actuators to fix this issue. Might try pressing remote at same time of using door handle to gain entry. ( some stated wiggling door handle as pressing key fob unlock). Then maybe you can atleast get it to dealer for some help. Sorry I can't be of more help.

You can buy aftermarket door lock actuators for under $10 a piece. Here's a video showing how to install them on a 2008 Impala: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_8kDjBFidc
