my 2008 Audi tt quatro 3.2 has an extra wire coming out of the battery that my new battery doesn't have. what is this?

did you buy the battery from an audi dealer ? if you did not take the battery back now and go there instead. cause for 1 you get better quality battery that way. and 2 they give you the correct battery for your car. and 3 they sell them with a direct swap for cheaper then most battery places.
