Honda fit rpm issue

Asked by Rohan Dec 09, 2018 at 01:16 PM about the 2007 Honda Fit Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi there,
I've got Honda fit. It suddenly started having this
issue.

When engine is hot (after 5-10km drive), it losses
the RPM for fraction of seconds and comes back
to normal. It does it constantly every time with
each acceleration (about @40 &60 km/h).
No engine light and no error code is there.

Please let me know how I can fix it.

Thank you very much in advance.
Marry Christmas.
Rohan.

If I were to guess I'd say 02 sensor, but whatever it is it's no doubt a sensor that failed "in range" so you need to hook into a scanner with live data stream then go for a ride. I hope this helps and Merry Christmas

Also check this out. When the engine hiccups, does the tachometer suddenly drop to zero then back up? That would be crankshaft position sensor (code P0320). Fuel filters are to be serviced about every 30,000 miles. That might be 50,000 kilometers. Scan for fault codes when it gets worse. Some codes don't set until it really happens a lot.

Yes Techometer drops as well. Haven't noticed if it's to zero or not though.
