My interior light come on and go off. Also, the headlights do this if the switch is in automatic mode.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Looked out in the carport and the lights were on, then went off.  They kept doing this until I switched the lights to manual.  However, the interior lights kept doing the same.

I had the same problem with a 2003 Ford Explorer. After a long painful troubleshooting and asking I come to find out it was the door sensor. First try, spraying a little WD40 on the lock. The part between the door when you have it in the open position. if that doesn't fix the problem the dealership is going to tell you they cant determine which sensor it is and want to charge you for new ones all around
