Can I make the following transmission swap?

I have a 2007 Lincoln Town Car and a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. The Lincoln is making a growling noise just as it shifts out of overdrive that sounds fatal. Can I put the Mercury transmission in the Lincoln? What issues will I encounter? Thank you! My email is mustang15@gmail.com
