2007 Lincoln MKX Headlamp Warning chime on key removal

Asked by David May 09, 2021 at 10:18 PM about the 2007 Lincoln MKZ AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We're experiencing something odd, headlights are set to Automatic mode;
periodically when we shut off the vehicle and remove the key the car sounds
the headlight chime.  We lock the door and go in the house and the headlights
stay on for way longer than the normal like 2 minutes, more like 30 minutes. It's
very annoying.

My first suspect would be the LCM (Light Control Module). They're prone to failure on Ford Products of this era. Check to see if the new module will have to be flashed to the vehicle after it's installed. Some do. Hope that helps! Jim
