Subaru Impreza 06 wagon won't start

Asked by Guru93PTW Jul 28, 2017 at 09:23 PM about the 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Subaru Impreza 06 wago. New ignition cylinder,
battery, and fuel pump relay but car won't start. The
vehicle will fire but won't start and I can't get the
key out of the ignition. Can't shift gears and door
won't auto lock (it locks then automatically unlocks
itself). Thought it might be a security program but I
have no clue.

I had to look up what trolling meant in this car lingo. He is a teen and its his first car so he does not know much about cars nor do I when it comes to the subarus. He has been working on it trying to get it going. We had it tolled home. For the 2006 wagon impreza we changed out the battery due to the old one was bad. Once that was done we still could not start the car. You can hear it click but will not turn over. The key was stuck in the iginion and would not release. The owner previously said he drove it like that for months. The dealership told us that the locking ignition cylinder was bad so, we replaced the entire piece. Car still will not start and that key is stuck in the ignition as well. We are trying to figure out what could it possibly be. The previous owner drove it to work, then home and the next morning he said it would not start.
