I had the same question myself after recently purchasing a 2004 9-3 lol ... after a LOT of research on line , I finally found a post that says each button 1-6 acts as a load and eject button too; so apparently you hit button 1 for example to load cd into slot 1. Unfortunately my cd isn’t working at all so I cannot load any ... I hear it making noise when car starts up but never opens when press buttons . I am going to buy a new cd unit and try that, or possibly replace cd unit with an aftermarket stereo system that has aux and Bluetooth . Hope this helps you !
