2006 mercury mountaineer a/c

Asked by Guru3B4DQ Jul 04, 2020 at 03:07 PM about the 2006 Mercury Mountaineer Premier AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So have a 2006 mercury mountaineer. The lines going to
the rear have rotted out. So I just cut off and sealed the
lines up front doi g to the rear. But the ac won't stay
running and cool down. What am I missing. Should work
just like normal but with our rear ac. I vacuumed it down
for an hour. It held the vacuum. Took a charge.  Then the
issue started. Any thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I wish other repairs were that simple. Cutting the lines to the rear sounds logical but it doesn't account for the other sensors that are monitoring the rear temp and trying to correct for it no longer cooling. I would replace the original lines and start over.

Ok well it looks like a lot of ac lines are gonna have to be ordered. Thanks for the info. Miss the old days and old cars.
