Can adding a Led light bar cause the Cruise Control to quit on a 2006 GMC Canyon
If it was wired correctly then no it won't, but if it was wired as to pull power form say the brake lights or speed control then it very well could. Those should be wired directly to the battery or a power stud by the distribution box with a relay. That is how I wired my light bar and flood lights on my old Yukon.
This is for the brake, taillight, turn signals, and backup lights. Wires into trailer light plug and backup light
Then it is a strip light so you may need to install diodes into the power feed wires for each function so eliminate feedback and keep the ohms correct.
What one diode for each function? What can I do to get my Cruise Control to start working again. I didn't know you couldn't just hook this up and it was working before I added this.
Just unplug it and see if your cruse works as it should, if it does then you know you have to install a diode for each function to stop feedback.
Yeah I unplugged the trailer plug but not the one line I had to tie in I think is backup but so far still not working. I'll pull tail light and disconnect and see what happens
Make sure the horn works as the cruise control is on that circuit. If it doesn’t work look for a blown fuse.
