center console

Asked by Diana Jun 14, 2011 at 11:19 AM about the 2001 Chrysler Town & Country LX LWB FWD

Question type: General

This isn't serious, just curious. I just got a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country LX. I've heard the center console can be used in the front and between the 2nd row bucket seats. But, can a center console be connected in the front AND 2nd row and have the charging/power work on both? My grandkids always have thier phones and Ninetendos, and I have my phones and GPS. Inevitably we need to charge or connect something front and back.

My previous car was a 2002 Town & Country, which I think has the same body style and interior as the 2001. We bought an extra console for the second row so the kids would have a place to stash stuff. The charging/power worked just fine on both consoles--they were always charging their electronics. Though I no longer have the car, I still have the console & have it wedged between the Swivel'n'Go seats of my 2008 T&C. It doesn't latch to the floor and connect electrically like it did in the old car, but it fits snugly so it doesn't move around, and it slides forward to make room for the seats to swivel. And it holds the DVD player's headsets that have nowhere else to live (a glaring oversight in the newer model--the tight seatback pockets are not a good fit for this). Hope this helps.
