Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While driving, the car in front of us ran something over that was laying on the road and hit
that part of the car and the part came off on the road and we weren't able to retrieve it
cause it was in the free way.
I'm looking to buy the part of this car to replace it, but i dont know the name!

....well now, then, there...we are going to have to wait and see which system is affected...was it metal...clangclangclang? could it have been a part of the evaporative control system? are you getting a check engine light yet? we are going to need more information to track it down~
