VSC, Check engine, Traction control all on

Asked by tony_buti Mar 26, 2017 at 03:26 PM about the 2007 Toyota Tundra V6 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought a 2007 Tundra 2x4 with only 3000 miles on it! Which means it was
pretty much sitting for 10 years. haha. Took it to dealer and got some EVAP
codes. Canister or lines maybe leaking. Then took tires off and found ONE of
my passenger side front brake pads completely worn down. Only one. so I
replaced all front brake pads, and lights all went off. friend said caliper could
be frozen but when we squeezed it, it still moves back and forth. All check
lights came back on again today. Could the brakes be the problem?

Sitting for ten years! Did you remove the old gas? If I were you I'm going to drop that thank, remove that gel like fuel and different scum then rinse it, replace the fuel filter too and blow the fuel line. I have the same problem with my car sitting for five years. When I finally revived the car it gives me different kind of code (CEL). After cleaning the gas line, tank and changed the fuel filter problems are gone.

Wow never even thought of that! I'll try it. Do you think the calipers freezing up can cause the VSC and track lights to come on as well?

If you get the vehicle scanned for ABS codes, and trouble codes they would tell you what to look for to fix on the traction control, and the VSC.

Yaw rate sensor possibly. This happened in my 4runner and I had to replace the sensor. Check engine light, VSC off light, and Traction all came on. My vehicle was older so......worn out.
