2000 GMC 2500 Sierra Dash Light Issue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

HELP! This is driving me and my dealer crazy. My dads 2000 GMC truck has been
doing the following and the dealer can not find the issue.

Driving down the road and the following dash lights come on. Seat Belt, ABS lights
come on. Battery, Security message board starts flashing. Gas and Temp gauge go to
zero. After 5 minutes, everything will start coming back to normal and it will not return.

The truck runs great and no issues when these things happen. I was driving down the
road and it started again. On a whim, while driving, I unlocked and then lock the doors
and everything went back to normal. The next day it started again so I right away
unlocked the doors and locked. Dash back to normal.

I am trying to sell the truck to someone for my mother and need to fix this issue.
PLEASE help if you have any ideas. Dealer has had this truck twice now and they do
not know or can find a problem. Codes are showing up but they are not helping the
dealer track down the issue.

Thank you! Tod

Check for corrosion on the under side of power distribution fuse block, corrosion on electrical connections can do weird things.
