License plate lights, cargo lamp/3rd brake light, and dome light not working.

Asked by JWorthen2180 Jan 24, 2019 at 05:45 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Cheyenne 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My license plate lights, cargo lamp, and dome light
arent working.  My reading lights work which is
odd because they seem like they woukd be on the
same circuit as the dome.  Bulbs and fuses appear
to be ok.  Any ideas?

That is what I was thinking, just been kinda waiting for a break in this freezing cold weather to crawl around under it. Thanks.

Also, I was having issues with my truck not starting and just doing one single click. I would hook it up to jumpers and just keep trying it until it started. Bought a brand new battery and the starter and alt. both tested ok. It did the same thing for the next 2 days until I bought a new battery post for the positive so the cables could all be hooked up properly. It has an amp in it and the guy I bought it from just kinda had the amp cable wedged in between the 2 positive cables. Not sure if this was the fix or if I have a bad ground somewhere.
