Ok , was told the 1995 4L60E won't work in my 1997 Chevrolet Z71 3 door 4X4
short bed truck due to OBDI and OBDII  systems ,so what years will
interchange with my truck?

OBD2 started around 97 so look for a 97 or later but not too much later. Compare all the connectors. If any are different it won't work or work correctly.
