To me it sounds more like a overheating problem. Make sure your radiator, fan and coolant levels are ok then maybe have the computer scanned for errors?

Does it eventually start after half an hour ? try holding the peddle to the floor when it won't start , or purge the fuel rail at the shrader valve and see if that helps , don't start any fires

May be leaky injectors, remove the upper intake manifold and power up the fuel pump. Stick your finger down each runner and touch the end of the injector. If there is any fuel on your finger, replace the injector or all since its best too or or hook up your fuel pressure gauge up crank it over to get fuel pressure reading then turn it off and wait to see it the pressure starts dropping. Or weak fuel pump which is likely to at its age. Or the fuel pressure regulator might be bad and leaking off. Injectors may be dirty as-well as fuel filter, of course this is all for speculation as it may just need a set of spark plug wires or plugs or a coil ect.
