Recharging Convertible Roof cylinders

Asked by GuruPKCQJ Sep 21, 2020 at 11:46 AM about the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello. I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse
Spider GT.  The driver’s side Regulator
was just recently replaced & is in
working order! Yay! Needle in haystack
new part found! Lol!
Problem is previous owner released
the hydraulic pressure fluid  to disable
the roof so it couldn’t be opened. How
do I repressurize it? Would love to get
this thing on the road! Thanks!

Please someone answer. I just waited 3 months to get the part & I almost have it on the toad except for this! Thank you!

Check your owner's manual. There is a procedure for "Manual Top Operation". There is a Valve located at the top of the hydraulic pump motor. The valve should be in the OPEN position (Fully Counter Clockwise) to manually open the top and in the CLOSED position (Fully Clockwise) to operate the top using the electronic switches located in the center of your dash. If you don't have the Owner's Manual, you can download one from the internet. I believe I got one for a 2010 and it covers 2007-2012 Spyder. Hope this helps. -Ro Check to see
