Make sure battery has a full charge, battery cables/connections all good? When problem is ongoing, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs? If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse? Also, check applicable trouble codes, your obd1, you should be able to check some codes, yourself, as long as the check engine lite still works. Intermittent issues can be hard to track, have to test when problem is ongoing. Just my opinion.
