"REDUCEDO ENGINE PERFORMANCE "

Asked by mustang_10124 Jan 30, 2017 at 05:38 PM about the 2007 Volvo S60 2.5T

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I started my car and was unable to go from park to
reverse after trying several times. I then noticed
message "REDUCED ENGINE PERFORMANCE ". I
restarted car and was able to put it into reverse. I
decided to let it sit for a couple of days and started
it. It started, but would not come out of park and
message wasn't showing anymore . I turned car
off, but continued to keep my foot on brakes, then
restarted car, and car went from park to reverse.
People with similar issues have stated nothing
serious and others have spent large amounts of
money to repair....any suggestions?

Have you scanned for any codes? It sounds like your transmission is in failsafe mode.
