2007 Pontiac g6 gt hardtop

I just bought a 2007 Pontiac g6 gt and
the trunk won't open so the top don't
go down, I tried taking the negative off
the battery but neither the button on
the door or the key fob would not work.
I have also checked the Conv fuse in
the fuse box buy the battery and it is
still good. The trunk still is not open
can someone please help give me an
idea.

Nothing will work if you have disconnected the negative battery cable. Put it back on and try again, this time see if voltage is getting to the top motor. If not, work back toward the battery and see where the motor is loosing positive voltage. Also, visually inspect the wiring going to the motor for breaks, shorts or loose connections and plugs.
